The World of Lore: Monstrous Creatures
by Aaron Mahnke Author
This fascinating, and beautifully illustrated volume, takes up the methodologies of anthropology and history to explore the mythology and legends surrounding many magical and monstrous creatures. Moving beyond superstitions and fanciful old wives tales, this text presents us with a set of illuminating questions regarding how the legends we create can speak to who we are as individuals and as larger cultures.

Starting out vegan about 5 years ago I was in love with Sarah Kramer's books just because they weren't the typical crunchy granola sort. This one disappointed me because most of the recipes were from other people but it's her face and her name alllllll over the place. If there's gonna be photos in a cook book I like it when it's of the food or food-related, not just some garter belts and famous tattoo artist husbands.
Either way, there's some good recipes but all credit goes to those who originally submitted them.
The recipes were great as always but this book definitly had a different tone than the previous two - which is amazing for a cookbook to achieve! But still, the pin-up style pictures come off more as pretentious than sexy. Whatever, this book and the other two in the series are perhaps some of the best vegan cookbooks out there and you will not be disappointed.
