Abort #21
by Jonathan Spies
Jonathan Spies writes a consistently interesting zine, and this outing is all horror-fiction. There are 6 stories, and most of them involve blood and guts, and all that good stuff. Vampires is my favorite story, but only because ikea-loving hipsters and their failing relationship are vastly more interesting when they're also undead. Visiting Hours is a close second, in which the narrator travels to a tiny apartment in Fort Greene to say goodbye to her living undead ex-boyfriend, and finally set him free. These are horror narratives which are probably most accessible for 20 and 30-somethings who like fiction and perzines, and enjoy them stitched together.
