Angry Violist #1
by Emma Violist
Emma wrote this zine for string players who hate being confined to classical music. She writes about her start as a violin player at the young age of 7, and of the technical nature of her instrument. We learn that the viola features heavily in Transylvanian folk music, and that buying and caring for your bow can be complicated. Emma suggests sound experiments to conduct with your bow, including some on the electric guitar, and profiles some less-ordinary string-playing heroes like John Cale of the Velvet Underground.
