Black Cloud #3

Black Cloud #3

by Bret Liebendorfer

Welcome to Black Cloud #3, a zine of stories that are mostly about drinking. Bret wanted a few contributors to diversify the content of this issue, so Brian Dellar wrote about finding abandoned dildos, Meg O'Malley wrote about the emotional hazards of working at Kroger, and Nick See wrote about avoiding the boredom of the working day. The other stories are about wearing diapers and drinking, returning home after a long absence and drinking, and a 24 hour donut shop.

“I always love zines that document life in smaller town punk scenes, whose inhabitants are often infinitely better at finding fun, interesting, and/or ridiculous things to dod than their big city counterparts, and this issue of The Black Cloud offers a glimpse into punk life in Columbus, OH. There's a bit about the city and nature of its DIY culture that serves as an introduction, as well as entertaining stories about donut shops, diaper parties, carefully placed dildos, working at Kroger's, and the main writer's debaucherous return to Columbus that has him getting drunk and sneaking into a hot tub instead of resting up for the next day's apartment hunting. This zine kept me amused for its entirety, and anyone who's done their time in a similar area can probaby identify with these stories.”
