In Christmas Eve, two friends get high and smart of to cops, The Problem With God and Rain is about a woman recalling her assault, and in Amazing Wife a man gets stabbed by his girlfriend. This issue is probably traumatizing for those with more sensitive dispositions. These stories collected together create a pretty grim outlook on life.
