Geneva 13 #10

Geneva 13 #10

by Kevin Dunn

Geneva 13 is the zine of the local. It chronicles things that are happening within 13 miles of Geneva, New York in a way that's relative to anyone anywhere. The theme of this one is "giving" and as such the editors do a series of great profiles on local service organizations that give back to the community. Ellen Wayne is interviewed about her job at a community lunch program, the Darlings are interviewed about their grassroots trees to troops program, and Cheryl Toor is asked about the Center of Concern. The C of C provides gas vouchers, free bus tokens, clothing, and runs a food pantry too. Matt Werts, Geneva postman disgruntled from hearing the same terrible Christmas songs on his route, reviews Christmas songs he actually likes. There's also an installment of Punkastronomy, and a history of giving in Geneva.
