Play: A Trees and Hills Anthology
An extensive comix anthology on the theme of “play” brought to you by the Trees & Hills Comic Group, this 64-page zine is packed with artists looking at play from all angles. As says Colin Tedford in the zine's introduction, “Increasingly our society outsources its play and art to professionals, hampering our ability to take care of ourselves. So here we have a collection of art about play and a [supplemental] booklet of games and activities to help get you back in touch with your own sense of play.” With art from folks like Daniel Barlow, Stephen R. Bissette, and Xerography Debt contributor Anne Thalheimer, this is a perfect little primer to remind you sometimes the best thing you can do is turn off your computer, drop that iPhone in the junk drawer, and go outside.
