Greta Thunberg (The First Name Series)

by Tracey Turner Author and Tom Knight Illustrator

Meet Greta Thunberg, the young activist voicing an entire generation's concerns about climate change and the impending disasters it portends. When Greta was 8, she first heard about climate change, and couldn't understand why there wasn't more being done to stop it. At 15, she began leading school strikes, where she would sit outside the Swedish Parliament and encourage other young people to join her in order to call attention to the seriousness of the issue. Now, Greta is a figurehead at the vanguard of a global youth movement to stop climate change. An inspiration to adults and young people everywhere, Greta is also very open about her Asperger's, and works to destigmatize the differences in the ways people think every day. A great gift to the young activist in your life, or a great addition to your elementary or middle school classroom.
