My Stupid Life / Snakepit
by Mitch Clem and Ben Snakepit
Fifty pages of brand new comics by your two favorite Texas-based punkrock-obsessed autobiographical cartoonists! Scandals! Holidays! A Dillinger Four show! Copies are in ridiculously short supply for now, so get on this ASAP.
Mitch Clem once described himself on the internet as an internet-famous cartoonist who never figured out how to get paid. He's self-depricating and conflicted in his work and self-expression, yet very talented. And this is some of the best self-reflective work from him I've ever seen. It's looking at his daily hardship and how his moods cripple his cartooning. Very relatable and he lovingly adopts the Snakepit format for telling his own daily diary comics. In Snakepit, Ben gets to share a stage with The Dead Milkmen, receives the 10th Anniversary Edition of The Snakepit Book, and injures his knee between some tedious time at work and hope for the future.
