Ideas in Pictures #4
by Colin Matthes Author
Colin impresses me with his use of images to convey meaning and feeling. He reflects a lot on the struggles of the factory workers in his native town in Wisconsin. Tyson Chicken seems to control the economy there and he documents a worker's strike in detail - connecting his interest in radical struggles to the way that the workers organized to his interest in animals and animal rights. He also discusses in detail the seemingly contradictary actions of the strikers - shouting racial slurs, being disrespectful to women, and his feelings and disheartedness about these actions. Highly recommended to people interested in labor or art.
