Adventures in Menstruating #5

Adventures in Menstruating #5

by Chella Quint Author

Chella Quint edits this rad zine devoted to the act of menstruating, and plans to once and for all defeat the period-hating masses and quash their anti-menses hysteria! Well, maybe that's too dramatic? At the very least, AIM zine aims to dispel the notion that monthly bleeding is embarrassing, unsightly, or taboo. In this issue Chella interviews Kitten von Mew, a UK burlesque performer (who's also the cover model). Belle de Jour encourages men to earn their red wings. Sarah Thomasin product tests Activa yogurt, and examines its claim that it reduces bloating. Alison Bechdel shares her reversible shirt. Michelle Tea's Rose of No-Man's Land is excerpted. Vintage pad ads are examined, and there's a science bit. Plus one of our microcosm staffers drew a comic devoted to talking about her period.
