Comics Youth #1

Comics Youth is a zine devoted to interviews with comics creators, and provides them a space to discuss non-normative issues involved in their practice. This issue includes 3 interviews:

  • Jason T. Miles (La Mano press) talks about trying to make a living solely from producing comics, and the resulting successes and failures of that attempt. Plus what his grandma thinks about his work.
  • Austin English (Sparkplug Comics) talks about being attached to the characters you create, youth-produced work, and creating comics you never intend to print.
  • Jason Overby (Diamond Comics,Abstract Comics) explains his aversion to white-out, and the process of defining characters over time.

This one's neat if you like making comics yourself, and you want to hear others talk shop.
