David Gilbert is a radical leftist activist currently serving a sentence in the Wende Correctional Facility. A founding member of Columbia University Students for a Democratic Society and member of the Weather Underground Organization, Gilbert has played a role in a number of radical organizations and events. During incarceration, he has co-founded an inmate peer education program on HIV/AIDS and written several essays and reviews, continuing his activism even behind bars.
