Ryan is a transportation activist, public policy expert, and community leader. A professional tricyclist since High School, they founded and ran Icicle Tricycles, based in Victoria, B.C. and Portland, OR. They are also the Managing Director of the Steel Bridge Skatepark Coalition and Better Block PDX, a volunteer-led organization that uses pop-up projects to reimagine public spaces and encourage active transportation. They work with community organizations, neighborhood associations, university students, and city transportation officials to make quick-build demonstration projects come to life.
