Sophia Joppolo

Sophia Joppolo has an MA in Classical Archaeology from Sapienza University of Rome. Her maternal ancestors come from a region in Sicily called Agrigento, which was once part of Magna Graecia: Ancient Greek colonies in Southern Italy. Agrigento is home to a site known as the Valley of the Temples, which includes the preserved remains of temples dedicated to Heracles, Hera, Zeus, Hephaestus, Asclepius, the Dioscuri, Demeter and the chthonic gods. When not studying the Ancient Mediterranean, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children on their food forest in rural New Zealand.
