Defending Giants: The Redwood Wars and the Transformation of American Environmental Politics

The  history of over 150 years of conflict over the redwood forests of northern California. Logging has eroded these forests to almost nothing, and for over fifty years environmental activists have put their lives on the line to try to preserve what remains of them.
