This is a doozy and a fun-looking one. This book explores the history and historical science behind astrology, one of our favorite divination methods that this book presents as humanity’s first system of algorithms. Originating in Babylon and still used to this day, author and scientist Alexander Boxer dives deep into the history of the practice, looking at classical texts to explore the background that drives astrology. He’ll look at the scientific (astronomy) and mathematical underpinnings that drive our interpretations of the positions of the stars. A mix of logic and storytelling, ancient astrologers had fairly complex systems of looking at the cosmos. The author will share all this information and understanding, even teaching the reader how to interpret and generate astrological charts. He’ll share the patterns found that even resemble the work that data scientist like him still use today, and the overall significance of patterns for astrology and in our history.
