Luca nunca ha vivido fuera de los Estados Unidos. Un día, sus papás le dicen que deberán empacar todo y dejar su hogar para irse a un lugar desconocido. Luca has never lived outside the US. When his parents receive a letter in the mail, the family must pack up and leave home. Luca, his brother Paco, and their parents drive across the border into Mexico, where his parents were born. Luca doesn’t understand why he had to leave his friends and his school.
