Luca has never lived outside the US. When his parents receive a letter in the mail, the family must pack up and leave home. Luca, his brother Paco, and their parents drive across the border into Mexico, where his parents were born. Luca doesn’t understand why he had to leave his friends and his school. He struggles through lonely, disorienting times. Reflected with delicate illustrations of familial love and support, this is a story for all — about immigration, deportation, home, and identity.
