Soledad Brother Book
by George Jackson Author
I was so moved by the passion and pain contained here; it feels like you know George Jackson...especially when he is denied the romance of his life (Dr. Angela Davis) and murdered for allegedly trying to "escape" from Soledad Prison-really to nowhere, if you investigate the facts. I can hope that years from now this book will be studied by an educational system that values the perspective of all of its citizens; if intelligently and thoughtfully expressed. Read it for its extradinary exhibition of love or its extraordinary recitation of pain, loneliness, and disappointment. Read it because it takes you inside the mind of one who lived our system at its most brutal level. George's passion and love will one day be vindicated.
