She Made a Monster: How Mary Shelley Created Frankenstein

by Lynn Fulton Author and Felicita Sala Illustrator

It all started when a group of writer friends sat around reading ghost stories to each other one stormy night and decided to have a ghost story writing contest. One of those friends was Mary Shelley, who longed to be a writer, and this is the story of how a contest between friends, and a dream about a man who was really a monster, birthed Frankenstein. Includes flashbacks of Mary's childhood.
