Petro-Subjectivity: De-Industrializing Our Sense of Self
This explores the impact of petro-subjectivity, our present societal tendency to normalize our use of oil in all facets of society--from the fuel we use for transportation to the plastic that permeates our everyday consumption choices. This has an effect on our actions, but also latent facets like our thoughts and language. The zine calls for a better future, to mobilize our thoughts and conceptions beyond simply normalizing our relationship with petroleum and structure our lives beyond oil. This book shares the stories and culture of artists looking to move beyond the frame of petro-subjectivity, both individually and as a society.
