The Comparative Havamal: Historic Advice & Guidance from the Viking Age God Odin

This is a celebrated and cited work in Norse literature, that has even achieved the status of holy scripture in some current spiritual/religious movements. This epic poem has been translated from Old Icelandic from the 1200s but also containing older materials. There are a total of three translations and these are presented alongside the original Old Icelandic/Old Norse. The poem touches on timeless aspects of life but also on the more profound, both the everyday and the occult. It is presented through the voice of the god Odin or Oðinn, who attempts to impart wisdom onto humankind. The handsomely formatted book features original art and has a new scholarly foreword and added commentary.
