Diary of a Drug Fiend and Other Works by Aleister Crowley

This special hardcover collector’s edition of Crowley’s work is a treasure trove for enthusiasts of the arcane, the occult, the erotic, and the highs and lows of drug addiction. Inspired by Crowley’s own experiences with drugs, this fiction piece was first published in 1922. The novel, titled Diary of a Drug Fiend, follows Sir Peter Pendragon, a veteran pilot of World War I. After coming into money, Pendragon escapes the life-sapping indolence of his past by marrying Louise Laleham, a devoted follower of the occultist Basil King Lamus. Their honeymoon in Europe is followed by their return to England, where they confront their inner demons.

The book vividly portrays their passionate love amidst a lifestyle of decadence, addiction, and ‘magick’. This collection also includes the novel Moonchild, a play titled Household Gods, examples of Crowley’s philosophy, The Book of the Law, The Book of Lies, and poems from White Stains.
