I'll Just Be Five More Minutes: And Other Tales from My ADHD Brain
This memoir explores what it’s like to have ADHD, exploring the life of Emily Farris and all the intricate, good and bad, the mundane and the struggle, and everything in between. She explores her life before getting diagnosed, the hardships and difficulties she seemed to have that many others didn’t seem to understand. When she got a diagnosis at age 35, her world started to make more sense, especially perceived shortcomings were, in a way, unavoidable outcomes of living in a neurotypical world. She covers many aspects of her life including relationships, money, medication, hyper fixations, and more. Through all this, the memoir explains what it’s like to be a person living with ADHD, which sheds a light to what it means to be misunderstood amongst your loved ones and the vulnerabilities that this condition creates, and how the author managed it all.
