What It's Like to Be a Dog: And Other Adventures in Animal Neuroscience
This is a look into the brains of animals, a first-hand account of research into the neurobiology of out companions in Animalia. Author Gregory Berns documents his experience looking into the brains of dogs, our beloved pets, while awake in an MRI scanner to understand the structure of their brains, their thoughts and feelings. From the findings they encountered, this led Berns and his team to research the minds and behaviors of many other animals, exploring and confirming the rich inner lives, thoughts, and emotions that other animals experience in life. It presents a case for people to reassess how they consider and treat animals.
