Re:Purposed

What is garbage? In this book, author Matthew McLendon argues that garbage is a matter of perspective. Artists and artisans throughout the centuries have repurposed found objects, before and after the French artist Marcel Duchamp created his iconic "Fountain" out of an old urinal. Through interviews with creatives in various fields, McLendon explores the themes of identity and environment by seeking out and analyzing art made of repurposed materials. Features discussions with Nick Cave, Aurora Robson, Mac Premo, Jill Sigman, Alyce Santoro and others.
