The Druids: Celtic Priests of Nature

by Jean Markale Author

Author Jean Markale is one of the most prominent writers of the 19th century of Celtic Paganism. Through this book, he shares his wisdom and research on Druids, one of the most fundamental roles and positions within Celtic Societies. Sharing a progressive history through the documentation of antiquity, he also emphasizes that lot of what we know about druids and Celtic culture at large is incomplete, given that much of this culture's documentation was oral tradition that was to be passed down generationally -- a practice stifled with the coming of Christianity, with which it would syncretize and also achieve some historical retention.

Unlike what the subtitle might suggest, Markale will explain how one could easily consider the Druids the priests of nature, but gives the reader the information to see them as much more.
