This book presents a unique parts of California history, amazingly narrated by an award willing historian and illustrated with captivating photography. This duo of father and son, explores some notable, some obscure, and important moments in California history. It documents through settling and development the forces and people moving through this state and follows the evolution of agricultural and urban populations. It also explores some of the history of resource allocations and water and climate change—in the face of the agricultural powerhouse that the state has become—contrasting many things such as the colonizers, the colonized, the rich and the poor, exploitation and development, and many sides and stories of this state.
