Ornament of the Great Vehicle Sutras: Maitreya's Mahayanasutralamkara with Commentaries by Khenpo Shenga and Ju Mipham

This book presents a new translation of Mahayana Buddhist text, one that considered by many to be a masterpiece, a keystone text classic to Indian Buddhism. The book goes through sutras and describes particular spiritual views, meditations, and other activities that lead to enlightenment. The narrator, Maitreya, explores how to cultivate traits and behaviors that lead to “awakening”. This book is probably not the best beginner’s primer to Buddhism, but will certainly be revelatory all the same, but namely for those who already know some basics of the religion, who might be practicing themselves and will set them on the path.
