The Wall
This book is a photographic exploration of old, abandoned Nazi bunkers across the coasts of Europe. This book is the culmination of a project that lasted eight years, where the photographer and author Annet van der Voort travels along the Atlantic Wall which spans more than 3000 miles of coastline. In documenting these bunkers, she paints a portrait of the times of WWII, showing an archeology that reveals a bit about the times and the places where these were built. Readers will see the variety to be found in these structures and the effect that time, nature, and people have had on these buildings and their Nazi legacy. The photography is accompanied with historical sketches.
