This is an activity book geared to caretakers of people with dementia. It will teach guardians and caregivers different activities that aim to give the people they care for more moments of levity and connection, to enhance their experience—whether that is one’s home or in an assisted living facility. Written by dementia activity expert Rachael Wonderlin and developmental psychology professor Geri M. Lotze, inside are dozens of ways to engage with patients and loved ones suffering from cognitive decline in a way that promotes use of creativity and the mind that’s accessible. Teaching how to introduce these activities into daily life, there are a range of categories for these including exercise, cooking and baking, arts and crafts, and more. In addition to these activities, there is info on creating a dementia-friendly environment in the house as well as other accessibility and quality of life tips, based on scientific research.
