Abandoned Asylums of the Northeast

Asylums are vestiges of a certain time in America. Mentioning them evokes a certain sense of many things, including the macabre and a bygone era in history. As will be shown in the photography in this book, they certainly evoke a sense of dread and the spooky in their abandoned state—buildings once erected with the aim of helping the mentally ill and take on a somber state in the face of time, as they become reclaimed by nature. Even in their original light color schemes, the elements have changed the view and can paint a picture about the past, how it was viewed then and what we can glean now.
