The Tree Collectors: Tales of Arboreal Obsession

This book is a collection of fifty stories, vignettes, that dive into the forest canopy of people who have been driven and transformed by their love of trees. The book goes into author Amy Stewart’s initial encounter with a tree collecting community, where she some of her initial expectations confirmed and then some; here, she found a group of people that collected trees for more than their value, or even aesthetic value, but rather a group of people that found that trees can create community and even healing. The people whose stories she features are varied and come from a diverse set of background. The reader will discover their many motivations behind their connections with arboreal. The author has included her original watercolor artwork, to add to the enriching narrative. The book also includes glossaries and tips for unauthorized forestry.

The book has been written and illustrated by the author of the beloved book, the Drunken Botanist.
