This reference book, written long ago by a Southern physician, serves as a curio of the times. It describes the symptoms for diseases like cholera, measles, and smallpox. More troublingly, it also includes instructions for the medical care of your slaves. It is of interest to historians and anthropologists as much or more than an actual medical guide.
