El Deafo

At Cece's old school, everyone was deaf; she's not sure how she and her giant hearing aid fit in at the new school. In her quest to make friends, she discovers a superpower—her hearing aid allows her to hear the teacher everywhere in the building, giving her valuable information to share with her peers. Having a superpower helps quell new school fears, but will it help her with what she really wants—making friends? This graphic novel is geared towards kids ages 8-12, hearing, hard-of-hearing, and Deaf alike.
