This classic book by Okakura Kakuzo teaches about the Japanese Tea Ceremony by illuminating the underlying spirit in the ritual and some of the messages conveyed by the masters of it — while it’s important to note that the intricacies of the ceremony itself, it is more focused on the heavy Japanese and Zen Buddhism elements that it expresses. It was in part was written to clarify Western misconceptions about the ritual’s meaning and expression, and about misconceptions about Japanese culture in general. This edition is marketed as being in Japanese.
