The Massacre at El Mozote

by Mark Danner Author

In 1981 a largely forgotten massacre took place in the Salvadorian village of El Mozote. The Salvadorian Army's American-trained Atlacatl Battalion wiped out hundreds of villagers, and reports of the massacre that reached the United States were called "propaganda." This is one of the first books written about the events at El Mozote, written with "thoroughness and integrity" and shining a light on the forgotten victims.
