Homo Sovieticus: Brain Waves, Mind Control, and Telepathic Destiny

As the Cold War neared its end, Soviet scientists and pseudoscientists explored mind control techniques through telepathy, cybernetic simulations, and mass hypnosis over television. One such broadcast, led by a psychotherapist, aimed to calm citizens during political turmoil by attempting to hypnotize them. This was part of a decades-long effort to use scientific and pseudoscientific methods to control public thought and reinforce ideological conformity. Experiments included studies on mental energy, aura fields, and even mind control on animals. These methods, often masquerading as scientific research, were ultimately used to manipulate citizens' responses to political events.
