Song of the Dark Man: Father of Witches, Lord of the Crossroads
by Darragh Mason Author and Peter Mark Adams Author
This book draws from historical accounts of the existence of “The Dark Man”, a representation of the Devil. This account will take a polyvalent view of this figure, looking at it as beyond simply an incarnation of “evil”, looking at how this figure has been an initiator into witchcraft and rebelling from unneeded social convention. The book in takes a look at different historical sources, staring with Irish manuscripts dating back to the 12th century, testimonies from 17th century Scottish witches, as well as interviews with contemporary mystics and witches that build a case for the pattern of the Dark Man phenomena. Beyond a figure in folktales, the author will expound how this figure can be useful in a witchcraft practice — to challenge a mystic to make changes, often difficult ones, and how these may bring heightened metaphysical awareness and a more fulfilling magical life.
