The author at an early age was inspired by his father building a range of many structures and shacks and teepees, who then went on to be the founder of the magazine of the same name of this series, the Backwoodsman, that shared survival skills and wisdom from those who thrive in the outdoors. The aim of this book is to give people who love the great outdoors more skills and ability to provide shelter—whether that be temporary or more permanent, for a longtime project or an emergency.
