An Absolute Beginner's Guide to Raising Backyard Ducks
by Gail Damerow Author
This is an introductory guide to raising ducks. While chicken may be the bird of choice for most homesteaders, the lesser favored fowl is gaining popularity for farmers. This guide will provide the beginner all they need to know, and how they differ from raising other birds. Ducks are friendly, productive and good at eating pests, resilient and healthy, and in some ways easier to raise than their Gallus domesticus counterpart (ducks are Anas platyrhynchos domesticus). The book will cover topics such as housing, feeding, breed selection, healthcare, behavior, as well as egg and meat production.
