Year of the Cat

by Richard Ho Author and Jocelyn Li Langrand Illustrator

This children’s book (for ages 4 to 8) takes a look at the cute, fast, beautifully illustrated story of the animals of the Chinese Zodiac. A race was made to determine what order the animals would fall in the zodiac and the order was decided…but there was one furry friend that was missing from the race. The enigmatic friend of the rest of the animals had missed out and never got to take part in the race! This book introduces children to both the Chinese Zodiac but also the concept of apologizing. Eleven of the twelve racers take off in search of Cat to apologize, all of them except for Rat…but there is a surprise waiting for Rat, especially once he apologizes and it’s not quite sincere.
