Big River: Resilience and Renewal in the Columbia Basin

This is a work profiling the Columbia River Gorge, with all it’s biodiversity, hydrogeology, cultures, and economic impacts. The region has been coming to terms operating on unsustainably with its watershed — as local indigenous nations look to renew their stewardship efforts, the area has been reaching a new inflection point. This book looks at possible and proposed new management strategies for the sustainability of the area, address the issue of water rights, the fish, agriculture’s needs and effects on the environment. With photography from award winning artist, David Maskowitz, this chronicles his many years exploring and documenting scenery around the the river and its watershed.
