Poe Knows: A Miscellany of Macabre Musings (Literary Wit and Wisdom Series)

This book is a compilation of quotes and literary excerpts of both fiction and nonfiction from the works of Edgar Allan Poe, including original illustrations to compliment the written content. The book is organized into multiple themes such as Madness, Revenge, Dreams, Mortality, and more. Throughout these sections are several hundred organized quotes and aphorisms from Poe’s bibliography. Each section is nicely prefaced and briefly introduced with the author’s description of Poe’s preoccupation with the given subjects, in a lighter vein than the beloved macabre writer, giving a bit of context as to why the author was so concerned with the themes that plagued his mind and flowed out of his pen.
