No Choice: The Destruction of Roe v. Wade & the Fight to Protect a Fundamental American Right
by Becca Andrews Author
In the fall of 2019, smaller reactionary events in conservative states started bolstering anti-abortion efforts around the country. The momentum would result in the appalling abortion bans to come: Georgia, Ohio, Mississippi, Louisiana and Kentucky would put limits on abortion at 6 weeks, Missouri at 8, and a full abortion ban in Alabama. By summer 2022, the Supreme Court overturned the decision in Roe v Wade which immediately triggered abortion bans in 22 states. This book explores what life after that decision entails and what the future looks like, predicting that the privileged will be minimally affected and the ones suffering are likely to be low income people, victims of abuse, whose bodily autonomy is stripped and policed. The author will share testimonies of people in communities hit the hardest but also the hope that exists to remedy the future, despite the bleak present.
