Food Fight: A Graphic Guide to Eating Disorders

by Nicole LaRue Author

Food Fight is a graphic novel that aims to bridge the gap between teens and young women suffering with eating disorders and the adult self-help books trying to gain their attention. It’s a personal story-of-sorts dealing with the social and societal struggles of food and body image and the chaos of disordered eating. It is full of graphic illustrations and uses color to differentiate the storyteller (always appearing in color) and the eating disorder (the same character always appearing in black and white). A truly difficult topic but poetically relevant for young, strong women today and a meaningful and relevant way to engage youth about the struggle and influences that destroy many young people’s lives.
