This book merges narratives and photography to share the history of Cleveland’s City Neighborhood, a place that has been defined by long-standing unity and a testament to the concept of the American melting pot. Despite the wonders of unity that this neighborhood is known for, there are also conflicts that have been part of the path toward harmony. It starts off with the battles that defined the relations that would have to mended continually and the eventual integration of Ohio City into Cleveland. Eventually there was an influx of immigrants of many kinds and waves that would define the evolving nature of the space, especially that of German immigrants and continual history. Readers will learn about landmarks and historical sites of interest and import that will evoke the heritage of the neighborhood and the city as a while. The photos are drawn from public records, wonderfully compiled and through oral/written compilations of first-hand accounts.
