This book is a story of wool, specifically one that explores American culture and knitting through the vector of the animal fabric. It will document the vanishing industry of American wool, where author Clara Parker explores the country and encounters shepherds, dyers, and all sorts of workers in the production chain of this resource and product. She goes all around the country to meet these people and follows the process of turning over 600 pounds of fleece into yarn that can be sold. This began with her search for the perfect yarn, and all along the way she presents the behind the scenes of each step of the way.
