This is a classic illustrated tome of cautionary tales, has been a favorite among children and parents since its 1845 publication. The luxurious gift edition features the original artwork and new content about the author and it's original publication. It has been translated into at least forty languages and inspired numerous contemporary interpretations, including Edward Scissorhands. Mark Twain produced a translation, and Maurice Sendak described it as "one of the most beautiful books in the world."
