A Walk Along the Shoreline

Nukappia eagerly anticipates his summer visit to his birth family on the shoreline, where he learns about the ecosystem of plants and animals that inhabit the area. After spending a night in town, Nukappia and his uncle Angu embark on a long walk to the family summer campsite, where his cousins, aunts, and uncles await him. Along the way, Nukappia discovers that the shoreline is not just ice, rocks, and water, but also includes an entire ecosystem of plants and animals, including seaweed, clams, char, and shore grasses.
